From the 7th LONE album ‘We came a long way’ released on 4-25-25
featuring Michel van Dijk & Ferdinand Bakker.
You want to please
And make sure you get heard
Say hey, hello
and how are you
But sometimes
A single nod will do
You don’t need no words to speak
Just keep the silence unbroken
A catch of the eye,
get a smile in return
It’s like having a talk,
a talk unspoken
Like a mountain
Or a stone on a grave
It’s all about the secrets that you keep
But sometimes
You better hold your tongue asleep
Words, so often misunderstood
Take a run on a road of no return
If you only hear half the message
The full story can’t be learned
Like a mountain
Or a stone on a grave
It’s just like the secrets that they keep
Be a mountain
Or a stone on a grave
They all wanna know what you keep
But sometimes
You better hold your tongue asleep

About:
A collaboration between two former bandmates. A duo which decided to go solo.
After their band Alquin stopped performing, Michel van Dijk and Ferdinand Bakker decided to make their own album, just titled LONE.
They embarked on a quest of musical experimentation, a search for the stories and references that inspired them both. It was at these crossroads of mutual inspiration that their journey became most interesting, resulting in six more albums.
Their new album is appropriately titled “We came a long way” (release 4-25-25).
